What is the meaning of Love?

Does love mean that you deal with things you hate and despise just to make the other person happy?

Does love mean that you would sacrifice your hopes and your dreams for the other person?

Does love mean that you will look each other in the eyes every day and tell each other that you are madly in love with them?

Does love mean intimacy?

Is love spiritual or emotional?

Does love mean that you have respect and trust or can you love someone and distrust and disrespect them at the same time?

I’m just asking?

Leave me a comment and let me know what YOU think?

  1. I think love is a true connection of understanding and openness. Far from giving up one’s dreams, I think love means that you support each other’s dreams (whether you are talking about partners, friends, parent and child, or whatever) and walk the journey of life together in solidarity, even if you are on different paths (which we all are, right? No one can walk exactly in my footsteps at the same time I do.)

  2. I found love when my every thought was about the other person. That love almost got me fired from a job because I didn’t know how to deal with love, how to control it. As my wise old grandmother said, “Too much of anything can be very bad.”

  3. Love ultimately starts within ones self. Sacrificing yourself for others is not loving yoursel. I believe that if you don’t live yourself you can never live someone else and they will never truly love you. Love is all of the above but to a limit. Love is an uncontrollable feeling with great expectations and bigger disappointments. It should be there at your highest high and your lowest low. Love is suppose to hurt but your suppose to grow TOGETHER with that hurt. It shouldn’t scorn you because then is when it’s not lie its a burden that you for need. Lastly, love us one word that can metamorphasize into so any other meanings. Fondness, lust, smitten, are just a few that people want to eleven is love.

  4. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

    Thanks for following my blog.

  5. I think very few people understand love. ( I know I don’t) but true love is not about giving up oneself for the other, I don’t think it is about intimacy either, I think love is supposed to be sublime. It is a complete understanding of the other and vice versa, so much, that it must be like ,feeling One.
